Todd Akin, a would-be US Senator claimed that in reference to pregnancy resulting from rape, "First of all, from what I understand from doctors, that is really rare. If it is a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try and shut that whole thing down."
And then there are the trans widows who when they protest against the men they married "transitioning" to becoming women (sic), or they try to leave the marriage, they are met with criticism and opprobrium for not supporting the "authenticity" of their husbands by refusing to remain in a "lesbian" relationship.
Yes indeed. That story about Todd Akin and 'legitimate' rape is appalling not the least because of its absurdity, but unsurprising, in a 'she asked for it' culture. In any case all rape is illegitimate. But Akin is surely a guy after Louis Bonnet's heart.
